The editorial and publication policy of Liminal Window.
Liminal Window is an independent literary journal published by Liminal Window Co. The publication explores the inner life of writing through essays, criticism, commentary, fiction, poetry, and visual storytelling. Each issue is structured as a conversational exploration of art, literature, and the creative process.
Editorial Focus
The journal publishes work that reflects thoughtful engagement with literature, art, and cultural observation. Content may include literary criticism, reflective essays, narrative nonfiction, short fiction, poetry, and experimental forms that illuminate the experience of writing and artistic creation.
Publication Format
Issues are published digitally on the Liminal Window website and archived as individual article pages. Each article is assigned a permanent URL and may also be distributed as a downloadable PDF. Selected works may be deposited in open scholarly repositories to support long-term preservation and citation.
Authorship & Attribution
All works published in Liminal Window include clear attribution of authorship and publication information. Article pages include metadata such as title, author, publication date, issue number, and suggested citation. This structure supports scholarly citation and long-term archival discovery.
Archiving & Citation
Articles are published with stable URLs and may be deposited in repositories such as Zenodo or Humanities Commons to ensure persistent access and citation. Where applicable, articles may be assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).
Editorial Process
Submissions are reviewed by the editor for relevance to the publication’s editorial focus, originality of voice, and clarity of expression. The journal values thoughtful reflection and literary craftsmanship. Some pieces may be commissioned or curated by the editor.
Rights & Permissions
Copyright for published works remains with the author unless otherwise noted. Publication in Liminal Window constitutes first digital publication rights. Authors retain the right to republish their work elsewhere, provided that the original publication in Liminal Window is acknowledged.
